Highlights and breakdown from the Thunder-Warriors game

Over at my blog, True Hoop Drew where I like to breakdown NBA plays, I’ve posted an in-depth breakdown of the Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook pick-and-roll play.

Head coach Scott Brooks went to this play a lot in the Thunder’s 120-109 win over the Golden State Warriors Friday night.

So far this looks like the most effective offensive set the Thunder have shown this season. The Thunder are known for not really running anything on offense and a set like this is perfectly suited for them. It’s not over complicated and takes advantage of their best players’ strengths.

As the season goes on we may see the Thunder emerge as one of the best pick-and-roll teams with their tandem of Westbrook and Durant running it.
