With the Thunder’s win last night over the Utah Jazz, head coach Scott Brooks is locked in now to coach the West All-Stars.
The coach of the team with the highest winning percentage through games played on Feb. 15 would get the job and the Thunder have only two games until then.
Oklahoma City currently sits atop the Western Conference standings with a 21-6 record, three and a half games ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers who are second with a 16-8 record.
The West is a tight race as always this year. For instance, the Minnesota Timberwolves have the 11th best record in the conference but are only three games out of fourth place.
It looks like the Thunder and Clippers have separated themselves from the pack. While still close both teams have looked the best so far in the conference.
The Thunder are 9-1 at home this season and 12-5 on the road. Oklahoma City is also third in the NBA averaging 101.1 points per game.
Brooks will coach Thunder players Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in the game. Thunder fans are still hoping for an injury so that James Harden can also sneak into the game.
