Kevin Durant has been selected to replace Joe Johnson in the three-point contest at All-Star Weekend in Orlando, Fla. Saturday night.
Durant participated in the contest last year but had a rough go of it with just seven points and finished last.
Durant has been hot especially lately from distance including making 5-of-6 in his 51-point game versus Denver earlier this week. Durant is shooting 36.7 percent from three on the year.
The competition for Durant in the contest will consist of Orlando’ Ryan Anderson, Miami’s Mario Chalmers and James Jones, New Jersey’s Anthony Morrow and Minnesota’s Kevin Love.
Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo will replace Johnson in the actual All-Star Game for the East team.
