2012-13 NBA Schedule: OKC Thunder to play Miami Heat on Christmas

Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE

The 2012-13 NBA Schedule was released last night. This year we will get the regular 82-game schedule instead of the condensed 66-game schedule the players had to deal with last season.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are one of the premiere teams in the league and thus will have 30 of their games on national TV next season.

The Thunder will kick off the season Nov. 1 on TNT in a rematch of the Western Conference Finals vs. the San Antonio Spurs on the road. The first home game for OKC will be Nov. 2 vs. the Portland Trailblazers.

The marquee matchup for the Thunder will be on Christmas Day when they travel to South Beach for their first chance at exacting some revenge against the Miami Heat. The game will be at 5:30 p.m. EST on ABC.

The Thunder will play Miami for a second time on Feb. 14 on TNT.

The Thunder will play 15 back-to-backs next season and actually starts the season with one. Only the Orlando Magic will play less back-to-backs with 13. The Thunder played 17 back-to-backs last season.

Opening night will be Oct. 30 featuring two games on TNT with the first one being the Miami Heat hosting the Boston Celtics followed up by the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Dallas Mavericks.
