Russell Westbrook on playing with LeBron and if Lakers are now the team to beat

Russell Westbrook appeared on Sportscenter yesterday and talked about playing with LeBron James in the Olympics and also gave his thoughts on the Dwight Howard trade to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Westbrook was of course sporting a slick outfit as usual, complete with gold shoes and gold glasses (just the frames). He said he forgot his gold medal so this would make up for that.

“It’s a little weird at first because I’m definitely still not over the fact that we lost,” Westbrook said when asked about playing with LeBron in the Olympics. “LeBron’s a good guy. He didn’t throw it in our face or nothing like that so it was cool.”

That seems to be the consensus around LeBron. Everyone likes him. They’re all friends, even the Thunder players. Why can’t they hate each other?

“It makes them a better team,” Westbrook said of the Howard trade. “With those two guys they’ll be dominant inside and outside. They’ll definitely be a team to beat.”

Westbrook was then asked if he knew when the Thunder and Lakers first played. When Neil Everett told him he said, “I definitely will circle [that date].”

That date is Jan. 11 and the game will be on ESPN.
