Kevin Durant doesn’t eat greens, Russell Westbrook thinks he’s best dresser in NBA

Royal Ivey is one of three players from the Oklahoma City Thunder last season that will not be with the team this coming year.

Ivey became a free agent after the season and the Thunder let him walk. Ivey went on to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Ivey had some time to sit down and talk with yesterday.

“He doesn’t like greens,” Ivey said of Kevin Durant. “He just started eating salad like a year ago. He loves chicken wings though, but yeah, he won’t eat greens, and he’ll tell you that he doesn’t like greens or salad. I don’t know how he got so tall, or how he stays so skinny without eating greens, but he doesn’t. I sit next to him on the plane and have never seen him eat greens.”

The idea of Durant shaking his head at greens goes perfectly with the little kid look about him. It’s not hard to imagine him making the same face when he hits a big shot at a plate of salad his mom puts in front of him at the dinner table.

“He’s the self proclaimed best dresser in the NBA [laughs],” Ivey said of Westbrook. “I love Russ because, you know, he’s himself on and off the court. On the court he plays with a lot of fire and he’s intense and competitive, and that’s what people see. But off the court, he’s happy-go-lucky. He also thinks that he’s a great dancer. Him, Durant, all those guys. I have love for all of them and they have a special place in my heart.”

We already knew this about Westbrook as he put on quite the wardrobe display in the playoffs this past season, drawing comparisons to Steve Urkel at times.

Ivey wasn’t the greatest Thunder player last year but he had his moments for the team. He especially stepped up some last year while Thabo Sefolosha was injured and he got some run, proving himself as a good defender and spot-up shooter.
