James Harden will miss second game in a row with groin injury tonight

The Oklahoma City Thunder will play their third preseason game tonight and their first one at home when they host the Charlotte Bobcats at 8 p.m. EST.

James Harden, who missed the Thunder’s last game with a groin injury, will again be out tonight. The injury still isn’t thought to be anything major as the team is just playing it safe with Harden.

Kendrick Perkins and Thabo Sefolosha each missed the first two preseason games and they will both again not play tonight. Both however practiced for nearly the entire practice yesterday which is progress for them.

Perkins’ targeted return is the start of the regular season while Sefolosha may play this coming Friday vs. Phoenix.

We will get a chance to see Daniel Orton for the first time in the preseason tonight as he is expected to play and split the backup center minutes with Hasheem Thabeet. Cole Aldrich will continue to start at center.

It seems Thabeet is securely ahead of Orton in the depth chart for the time being. Thabeet had his moments in the first two preseason games but also fouled out in both in not many minutes, although that isn’t a huge concern.

Walker Russell will now become the only player on the Thunder roster that is yet to suit up this preseason.

Russell Westbrook did not play in the Thunder’s last preseason game as he sat it out simply for rest, no injury. He should play tonight along with Kevin Durant.
