OKC Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets Preseason Recap, Highlights

The Oklahoma City Thunder picked up their third straight preseason win last night beating the Denver Nuggets at home 108-101.

Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 16 points, five assists and six rebounds in 30 minutes. Russell Westbrook had 11 points and nine assists in 26 minutes. Serge Ibaka had 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting including making two 3-pointers in the first quarter.

It was the first game for the Thunder this preseason with their entire starting lineup intact. Kendrick Perkins and Thabo Sefolosha each made their preseason debuts last night.

Perkins played 18 minutes and had four points, four rebounds and two blocks. He looked solid defensively but was very rusty on offense. Sefolosha played 20 minutes and had eight points and four rebounds while hitting 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.

James Harden also played last night after missing the last three preseason games with a strained groin. In 28 minutes he scored 16 points to go with three assists and four rebounds.

The Thunder held on to win this one in the fourth quarter while resting their starters and the Nuggets playing a lot of their key players.

Reggie Jackson played 22 minutes and had 10 points, four assists and four boards. He made 2-of-3 from three. Eric Maynor sat out this game.

Rookie Perry Jones III had a quiet night scoring just four points in 16 minutes.

The Thunder went 15-for-32 from beyond the arc as a team. They had 25 assists too as they continue to move the ball very well for good shots in the preseason.

Led by Durant and Westbrook, the Thunder looked very comfortable and confident last night. It’s just the preseason but they seem to be getting more mature in their play as a team.

Cole Aldrich was the only backup center to play and he logged 20 minutes. DeAndre Liggins also played but only four minutes.

Lazar Hayward, Hollis Thompson, Hasheem Thabeet, Daniel Orton, Walker Russell and Andy Rautins all did not play.

The Thunder will play the Chicago Bulls in their next preseason game Tuesday, Oct. 23 on the road. That game will be on NBATV. Durant will not play and Westbrook isn’t expected too either.
