Russell Westbrook played his best game of the season tonight as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Utah Jazz 106-94 to improve to 13-4 on the year.
Westbrook scored 23 points and came close to a triple-double with 13 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals. He went only 6-of-18 from the field and had eight turnovers but he was all over the floor all night and the Thunder outscored Utah by 27 when he was in.
Kevin Durant led the Thunder with 25 points and Kevin Martin chipped in with 19 off the bench.
The Thunder made more athletic plays in this game than any game so far this season. They blocked 14 shots as a team in the game with Serge Ibaka leading the way with seven and Durant with four.
Utah shot just 41.3 percent in the game but avoided being blown out because of their work on the offensive glass collecting 21 boards.
Kendrick Perkins also played perhaps his best game of the year scoring 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting and also dishing out five dimes and blocking three shots. He was perfect passing two cutting Thunder big men all night long.
Tonight was just an ordinary regular season game before Westbrook and company put on a show that will be talked about by Thunder fans all night. There were too many amazing plays to count.
The Thunder will play again tomorrow night on the road vs. the New Orleans Hornets at 8 p.m. EST.
