Kevin Durant injured his ribs Saturday night when the Oklahoma City Thunder were on the road vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was kneed in the back inadvertently by Alonzo Gee and had to go back to the locker room.
Durant returned in the fourth quarter and scored 13 points on 4-of-8 shooting but it wasn’t enough as the Thunder lost 115-110.
After the game, Durant was diagnosed with a rib contusion and looked to be in a great deal of pain. A rib contusion is essentially a bruise but can be very painful and Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman said he would be surprised if Durant suited up tonight.
Durant is a gamer and he will start tonight vs. the Dallas Mavericks as the Thunder are back home at 8 p.m. EST.
Sorry about previous message. @kdtrey5 said he will start vs. Mavs tonight.

Don’t expect to see Durant limping around or anything like that. He will likely not be milking this injury at all or even showing any signs of it.
If Durant gets hit hard on a foul or falls down hard, keep an eye out to see how he looks getting up. But it can’t be too much of a risk for Durant tonight. Scott Brooks sat starters Serge Ibaka and Thabo Sefolosha for a few nights earlier this season when they had minor injuries.
Durant has torched the Mavericks this season. The Thunder have beaten Dallas in overtime twice this year. Durant had 40 in the first win then a career-high 52 the next time back on Jan. 18.
Dirk Nowitzki was also questionable coming into tonight but will also be playing.
