NBA rescinds Kevin Durant’s technical foul from Thunder-Lakers game

Kevin Durant was called for a technical foul last Tuesday night when the Oklahoma City Thunder hosted the Los Angeles Lakers.

The NBA has since reviewed the technical foul – which they do for every technical – and decided to rescind it.

It would have been Durant’s 13th technical foul of the season so now he has 12. You receive a one-game suspension when you get to 16 technical fouls.

Durant said after the game that he hoped the NBA would rescind the technical. Referee Joey Crawford is the one who called it on Durant after Durant claimed he only said, “Can I talk to you?”

Crawford is notorious for handing out technical fouls for little things and it’s no surprise that Durant was probably telling the truth about this and the NBA agreed and that’s why they rescinded it.

The Thunder have 22 games left this season so Durant will have to try and keep his cool as to not pick up four more technicals.

The Thunder are only three games back of the San Antonio Spurs for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. OKC looks like they will have a really good chance of catching the Spurs since Tony Parker is likely to be out for the next month with an injury.

The Thunder will look to get their next win tonight as they travel to play the New York Knicks at 8 p.m. EST on TNT.
