NBA Draft 2013: Adonis Thomas’ workout with OKC Thunder a success

Most of the focus around the Oklahoma City Thunder and the upcoming NBA Draft has been around their first pick, the 12th overall pick they have via the Toronto Raptors.

The Thunder also have three more picks in the draft and while they probably won’t end up drafting and keeping four players, they will have a chance to get someone else after the lottery.

Adonis Thomas, who left Memphis after his sophomore season, worked out with the Thunder yesterday and called it a success.

Thomas averaged 11.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game with the Tigers last season. He is 6-foot-7, 240 pounds and will likely be a small forward in the NBA.

He is a physical specimen that can’t really shoot. He needs to develop into a great defender who can rebound to make it in this league. One day it would be nice if he could shoot the corner three.

Thomas isn’t even projected to get picked at all by DraftExpress so the Thunder probably won’t be thinking about him until the end of the second round.

Thomas is the kind of player that would probably be a nice addition to the Tulsa 66ers as there is no doubt he that he won’t have a chance to play with the Thunder next season.

The other player we know that the Thunder worked out yesterday was Steven Adams from Pittsburgh, who is a player the Thunder will consider with their first pick.
