The Cleveland Cavaliers shocked just about everyone drafting Anthony Bennett from UNLV with the first overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Pretty much everyone expected the first overall pick to be Nerlens Noel or Alex Len or for the Cavs to trade the pick.

The Cavs  seemed to already be pretty set at power forward with Tristan Thompson. There is still a chance of course for the Cavs to trade Bennett but it’s unclear yet if they are interested in doing this.

The Oklahoma City Thunder actually attempted to trade with the Cavs for the first overall pick but failed.

There were reports early in the week that the Thunder were offering Kendrick Perkins and a few picks to move into the top five.

This surprise pick definitely opens up some unforeseen scenarios which may mean that the Thunder have a chance to trade up and get Alex Len or Victor Oladipo.

With the Magic drafting Oladipo, it does not mean that they won’t potentially trade the pick later tonight to the Thunder if OKC can make them an offer that they really like.
