When the Oklahoma City Thunder traded up to draft Andre Roberson 26th overall last night, I doubt many Thunder fans got too excited.
Upon further inspection, Roberson may be a more exciting pick than was first thought.
Here they are:
Roberson averaged 10.9 points and 11.2 rebounds per game in his junior season with the Buffaloes. At 6-foot-7 and 210 pounds, he is obviously quite the athlete and has an elite skill as a rebounder.
This could become a sneaky good pick by the Thunder if he turns into some hidden gem and I wouldn’t put it past the Thunder to discover this guy.
He looks like he might have a little Jamario Moon in him. If he can develop into a decent three-point shooter, at least from the corners, he could be a good pro. It feels like he is going to be committed on the defensive end and someone who can do the little things.
Still though, the Thunder will probably have him playing in the D-League for the Tulsa 66ers more than anything next season. He probably won’t have an immediate impact in OKC but down the road, possibly.
