The Oklahoma City Thunder have now officially announced their roster for the Orlando Summer League that will take place July 7-12.
As expected, the roster will include rookies Steven Adams, Andre Roberson and Grant Jerrett.
It will also include some players who will likely play a key role with the Thunder next season in Reggie Jackson, Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones.
Remember it was last year when Jackson really dominated in the summer league. He seemed to really be a more confident player in the summer after a rookie season where he didn’t show much promise.
The hope this year is that guys like Lamb and Jones will show a similar level of gained confidence in the summer league.
I think we can definitely expect that from Lamb, who really dominated in the D-League this season. Jones still shows some inconsistency on the floor but when aggressive, looks like a player who could really contribute for the Thunder.
I don’t have high hopes for Adams right away. He will probably look really raw and commit a bunch of fouls. If he can knock down some midrange shots like he did in the combine, that will be nice to see.
I actually think Roberson will be really impressive and could even make a strong case to get some playing time with the Thunder this season. He just seems like the type that will come out and really hustle and defend and rebound. If you can do those things, Scott Brooks will play you. Be ready for some serious dunk highlights via Roberson too.
