Reggie Jackson is the definition of sneaky athletic and today, he snuck up on Moe Harkless of the Orlando Magic with this jam in the Orlando Summer League.
Jackson will be entering his third year in the NBA next season and today was his first action in summer league. He played a little over 17 minutes and had four points, four assists, four rebounds and seven turnovers.
Jackson will look to play a bigger role with the Thunder next season. We saw a glimpse of the kind of potential he possesses when he took over at the starting point guard spot for Russell Westbrook in the playoffs. He averaged 14 points per game and shot 47 percent from the field.
With Kevin Martin on the way out, more responsibility will lie with Jackson to create with the second unit and be a consistent scorer.
Jackson is great in the pick-and-roll at attacking the rim (which he shows in the video above). He’s got really long arms and knows how to use them with the dribble and to finish above bigger defenders.
Kind of like James Harden, if Jackson can get into a rhythm attacking and doing his thing, he can be a real force and very tough to stop.
There’s been a lot of talk about Jeremy Lamb being the one who needs to step up with Martin leaving. While that is definitely true, expect Jackson to look to step up even more so and possibly become one of the best sixth men in the league next season.
