Video: Kevin Durant lights up the Drew League for 35 points, 17 rebounds

Kevin Durant finally found some time this summer to take a trip to Compton and play in the famous Drew League.

Durant played for LAUNFD vs. Money Gang, which featured NBA players like Metta World Peace, Stephen Jackson and DeMar DeRozan.

Durant did not disappoint scoring 35 points including hitting six three-pointers. He also pulled down 17 rebounds and had three assists.

Durant would miss the potential game-winning three-pointer with a few seconds left on the clock and his team trailing 92-90.

World Peace finished with 29 points and 13 rebounds and DeRozan racked up 27 points and 11 rebounds.

Durant has to be one of the best players to watch in a game like this. When defense is semi-optional (although the Drew League is a bit more serious than that), Durant feasts.

You know Durant is going to pull up from another area code at least five times in a game like this, the kind of play that is exciting as any in this kind of atmosphere.

We’ve seen a lot of NBA players play in this league this summer including James Harden. Here’s to hoping that Durant finds some more time to come back for another game before the summer is over.
