According to a report, the Oklahoma City Thunder will travel on the road to play the New York Knicks on Christmas Day next season.
Knicks-Nets on Christmas Day….not so fast. I’m hearing Bulls in Brooklyn and OKC at MSG on Dec. 25.

The NBA schedules will be released next week and then we will know for sure of this.
This would mark the fourth year in a row that the Thunder are playing on Christmas.
In 2011, they beat the Denver Nuggets 114-106. In 2012 for the lockout-shortened season, the Thunder beat the Orlando Magic 97-89. Last year, OKC lost to the Miami Heat in an NBA Finals rematch 103-97.
Christmas is always a big day for the NBA and in the eyes of many, signifies when the season actually is starting to get underway.
When the Thunder lost to the Heat last year, and considering the way in which they lost, it felt like more than just any loss for OKC. They once again looked helpless against a Heat team that had just beaten them in five games in the Finals.
A matchup against the Knicks doesn’t feel that exciting for the Thunder. If they were playing the Rockets, Lakers or Heat again, the day would be anticipated much more by Thunder fans.
Nonetheless, the stage feels a little bigger on Christmas and a little bigger in MSG. Put those two together and we could be in for an amazing Christmas gift from Kevin Durant if he decides to go off.
