NBA Schedule release 2013-14: Breaking down the OKC Thunder's schedule

The NBA schedule for the 2013-14 season was released yesterday.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will open the season on the road vs. the Utah Jazz on Oct. 30. Their second game will also be on the road vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves Nov. 1.

The home opener will be Nov. 3 vs. the Phoenix Suns.

Some other intriguing games on the schedule:

Nov. 27 – at home vs. San Antonio Spurs. This is the first time the Thunder will play the defending Western Conference champion Spurs.

Dec. 11 – at Memphis Grizzlies. The first time the Thunder will see the Grizzlies, who knocked them out of the playoffs last season.

Dec. 25 – at New York Knicks. The Thunder travel to play the Knicks on Christmas Day at 1:30 p.m.

Dec. 29 – at home vs. Houston Rockets. The first time the Thunder will see former teammate James Harden and his newly acquired teammate Dwight Howard.

Jan. 29 – at Miami Heat. The first time the Thunder will play the two-time defending champions.

Feb. 20 – at home vs. Miami Heat. The sole home game where the Thunder will host the Heat.
