This isn’t huge news, although in September whenever Kevin Durant says something it’s big news for Thunder fans.
Durant was asked about Russell Westbrook’s injury recently and had this to say:
At a Nike&Foot Locker event in Barcelona (Spain), Kevin Durant said he expects Russell Westbrook to be ready for the start of the season.

We definitely all expect Westbrook to be ready by the start of the season. Some people may forget the difference between Westbrook’s injury and say, Derrick Rose’s.
Westbrook’s was not nearly as serious, just a tear of his right meniscus. If the Thunder had made it to the NBA Finals, Westbrook realistically could have returned and played.
The question is: How “back” will Westbrook be for opening night? Will he look 100 percent or will something feel off?
My gut is that we won’t even be able to notice that he got injured at all. Hell, he finished Game 2 vs. the Rockets after the injury and played well.
Westbrook is a freak of an athlete and it would take a lot more than this kind of injury to seriously affect him and his game. We should all fully anticipate a 100 percent Russ for the first game of the season.
