OKC Thunder beat Utah Jazz 88-82 in preseason game

The Oklahoma City Thunder improved to 4-1 in the preseason after beating the Utah Jazz 88-82 last night.

Kevin Durant had an uncharacteristically poor shooting night going 2-for-10 from the field and scoring just five points.

Reggie Jackson made up for it as he was extremely efficient in getting his 18 points. Jackson shot 7-of-10 from the floor and was 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.

Serge Ibaka was the second-leading scorer for the Thunder in the game as he totaled 17 points to go along with four blocks.

The play of Jackson and Ibaka may be the most important for the Thunder early in the season. Jackson obviously has to replace Westbrook in the starting lineup and Ibaka will also need to increase his scoring role with Russ out.

Andre Roberson started in place of Thabo Sefolosha, who came off the bench scoring 14 points in 25 minutes. Thabo went 10-for-10 from the free throw line.

Sefolosha is another guy that will try and step up in Russ’ absence. If he can aggressively generate offense, which was evident last night with him shooting 10 free throws, then that will be huge for OKC.

Jeremy Lamb also scored in double-figures off the bench with 12 points, but he did once again struggle from deep going 1-for-5.

Nick Collison added 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.

The Thunder will play their next preseason game against the Bulls Wednesday in Wichita.
