Following the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 107-95 victory at home over the Chicago Bulls Thursday night, Kendrick Perkins and Joakim Noah were involved in an altercation in the Thunder locker room.

What essentially happened was Noah entered the Thunder locker room to visit Thabo Sefolosha. Then here is the transcript between players in the locker room via the Oklahoman.

Perkins: “They just let anybody in the locker room?”
Noah: “C’mon, man.”
Perkins: “I’m just asking, though.”
Noah: “C’mon, man.”
Perkins: “Just let anybody in the locker room now?”
Noah: “You want me to wait outside?”
Perkins: “I’m just saying, though.”
Noah: “If you want me to wait outside, I’ll wait outside.”
Perkins: “Get your ass up outta here.”
Noah: “Aight.”

Hearing that Perkins was involved in this kind of incident is certainly not surprising. From the sound of things, Noah was pretty innocently trying to visit Thabo.

Also, the Bulls have a policy that former players may visit their locker room. The Thunder apparently do not have this policy.

Perkins is a competitor and it can get heated between him and opponents. He is a very loyal player and I think reasonably was annoyed by Noah’s presence.

Overall, this wasn’t a big deal. Once Perkins said something, he wasn’t going to back down. It didn’t escalate because Noah probably felt he was kind of intruding to some kind of degree.

Last night was the first meeting between the Bulls and Thunder this season. They will play again in Chicago March 17.
