It should be no surprise ever when Kevin Durant is named the player of the week. But this week is a little more impressive since he sat out the Thunder’s win Friday night vs. Boston.

Nevertheless, Durant averaged 38.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. The Thunder went 4-0 in the week while Durant picked up his fifth career triple-double Saturday night at Philadelphia.

Here is a recap of each game Durant had this week, courtesy of

Jan. 21 vs. Portland: Scored 46 points and added five rebounds and four assists during a 105-97 win over the Trail Blazers.

Jan. 22 @ San Antonio: Tallied 36 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a 111-105 win over the Spurs.

Jan. 25 @ Philadelphia: Notched a triple-double with 32 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in a 103-91 win over the 76ers.

With Russell Westbrook out and over the last month, Durant has upped his game to where he is now the frontrunner for the MVP award as far as most people are concerned. Durant is well on his way to once again being named the player of the month for January as well.
