Thunder vs. Suns Final Score: OKC lets it slip away late 128-122

The Oklahoma City Thunder wasted another huge performance by Russell Westbrook Thursday night as they lost to the Phoenix Suns 128-122 on the road.

Westbrook led OKC with 36 points, nine rebounds and nine assists while Kevin Durant went for 34 points.

The Thunder weren’t bad offensively down the stretch, although they could have used to have a few more shots fall, they just couldn’t stop the Suns on offense.

Goran Dragic scored 22, the Morris twins combined for 39 off the bench, but it was Gerald Green who stole the show scoring 41 and making eight three-pointers.

The Suns shot 52-5 percent from the field and made 15-of-27 threes.

The Thunder also shot well and only turned the ball over nine times.

In his second game with the Thunder, Caron Butler saw 29 minutes of action off the bench and scored 14 points including four makes from behind the arc.

Butler closed out the game with Derek Fisher and the Thunder Big 3.

Reggie Jackson played just 18 minutes and was 2-of-8 from the field with four points.

The Thunder had three players play 10-plus minutes and not score. Starters Perry Jones and Steven Adams didn’t score in 11 minutes and Andre Roberson didn’t score in 13 minutes of action.

The Thunder are 3-4 since the return of Russell Westbrook. They’ll have an easier game up next vs. the Lakers on the road Sunday afternoon.
