Fans won’t have to wait until November 1st (when the Oklahoma City Thunder play their first regular season home game against the Denver Nuggets) to see their squad in action. The Thunder have just released their seven game pre-season schedule which includes two games inside Chesapeake Arena.
The first pre-season game for OKC will be on October 8th as they travel to play Denver. Two days later on October 10, the Thunder will take on the Dallas Mavericks who have done some re-tooling over the off-season in a quest to go deeper into the playoffs. From here, the Memphis Grizzlies will come to town and tackle the Thunder in Oklahoma City on October 14, and then OKC are back on the road visiting the New Orleans Pelicans (where Anthony Morrow will feel right at home!) on October 16th.
The Oklahoma City Thunder will then play a pre-season game in Wichita against the Toronto Raptors on October 17 and will then head to Tulsa where they will face the Minnesota Timberwolves. The final pre-season game will take place in Oklahoma City and will feature the Thunder taking on the Utah Jazz on October 19th,
Pre-season games are a great way to ease into the NBA regular season. Players will relish the run and it will add some additional competitive action – something that you can’t quite simulate in training camp. While the Thunder haven’t made any announcements as yet as to who will play what minutes in the pre-season, it is likely the entire roster will see significant action.
