Kevin Durant to Call Curtains on Acting Career

With just one movie to his name – the aptly titled “Thunderstruck”, Kevin Durant has called curtains on his acting career.

The children’s movie featuring the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar, is based around a child getting Durant’s basketball ability and well…… you can watch the rest. In any case, it’s the only way you are going to see Kevin Durant on the big screen from now on.

After the Thunderstruck flop of 2012, it is probably best that Durant sticks to what he knows best – playing basketball. Having recently withdrawn from Team USA ahead of the FIBA World Cup citing mental and physical fatigue, it is quite clear that KD is focused on doing whatever he can to bring an NBA title to Oklahoma City.

Durant rubbed salt into the wound himself, by acknowledging former NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal had a bigger hit and better movie in Kazaam. Now, for those who have witness that less-than-stellar cinematic experience, you would know that Durant is setting the bar pretty low!

“Nope….no. I play basketball”, was Durant’s response when asked if he would look at acting again.

Thunder fans won’t be disappointed in this at all. They are hopeful that Durant can lead them to the NBA championship and in order to do that, he needs to remain rested and focused on basketball. Sure, the movies can be a great aside (if you can act and when you already have a ring) but KD is better at making highlight tape mixes on the court than blockbuster smashes off it.

So if you want to see Kevin Durant in action, tune in to the new NBA season as it kicks off at the end of October. And check the boxscore, not the box office.
