Game of RINGZ: The tale of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook Part 2
Part Two of Game of RINGZ, a fictional tale about the relationship between former Oklahoma City Thunder teammates Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
Previously: Lord Russell and Servant Kevin just finished a grueling battle in House Warriors. They did not win the battle, but the future looked bright in Thunderos. That is until House Warriors visited Servant Kevin and pitched him on the idea of leaving Thunderos for The Bay.
Game of RINGZ Part 2
Lord Russell was becoming frustrated with Servant Kevin. His attempts to speak to his best friend were being thwarted by Kevin’s guards. Russell was confused. Kevin had always made time for him, what had changed? Why were the guards suddenly turning him away? And when did he get guards?
Russell began to seek advice from his fellow friends in Thunderos. He went to Bignut and Kanntister first. The two behemoths had quickly become Lord Russell’s best friends during battle. He could always count on them to have his back. Bignut never mixed words and Kanntister always kept his. Russell knew that he could count on the Brothers of Mustache in this pressing time.
Servant Kevin had locked himself in his room. No one was allowed to enter through the doors unless they were a blood relative or a battle sponsor. Servant Kevin claimed that he wanted to be left alone, but his actions did not back-up his words. He remained in contact with House Warriors. Messages were being delivered to him every day, including an unfortunate picture of Draytheon’s lower half. Draytheon claimed that the carrier pigeon had been compromised.

The people of Thunderos began to worry about Servant Kevin. They never believed that he would leave Thunderos for The Bay. He always maintained that he wanted to remain in Thunderos for the rest of his life. He not only loved the people and his brothers in battle, but he helped build the Thunderos that is seen today. Thunderos was unclaimed land for the longest time. Servant Kevin and Lord Russell moved from an established Seattlespear, claiming Thunderos as their own.
When the city crumbled under the pressure of a massive Heatwave from the south, Kevin was the first one outside to help build things back up. When others would criticize Thunderos for being too small, Kevin defended his town and said that a bigger town was not for him.
But the people of Thunderos had never seen Kevin like this. He was always so good about communicating how he felt. Or so they thought.
Kevin hadn’t slept in days. He had too many thoughts in his head to sleep. The voices kept him up at night. Could he leave Thunderos, turn his back on the town that he loved and built? Could he leave Russell, his best friend, and most trusted ally? Could he join House Warriors, the treacherous opponent that ended his quest at the RING just a few short weeks ago?
Kevin knew that heading to The Bay would almost guarantee him climbing the mountain and capturing multiple RINGZ. House Warriors told him as much. They knew that with Kevin, they were not only strengthening their house, but they were weakening their biggest competition on the battlefield. But Kevin didn’t think it would be that easy. He believed that going to House Warriors would make things tougher. He would have to fight alongside new partners and adapt to a different role and techniques.
Jerry of West told him that joining House Warriors would make everything easier for him. But Kevin didn’t hear that; he only heard the part about multiple RINGZ. To justify his feelings, Servant Kevin was tricking himself into believing that the battle to the top of the mountain was going to be harder.
Kevin had made up his mind, and he was ready to announce his decision to the world, but first, he needed to speak with Lord Russell.
Durant summoned Russell to the Garden of Snakes for their meeting. Russell could immediately sense that something was wrong, but was willing to hear Kevin out. Kevin apologized for being incommunicado following their battle with House Warriors. He just needed time to process everything and didn’t mean to shut Russell out. Russell nodded in understatement. Kevin told him that he loved him and that he loved Thunderos and that he looked forward to their next battle before giving Russell a hug.
