Welcome to Views from OKC, Thunderous Intentions’ daily roundup of the best OKC Thunder stories across the web.

New to Views? Glad to have you here, and I hope you’ll make this a daily destination. Well, let’s get started!

The trade deadline is vastly approaching..

“This week is big for Roberson, and on a smaller scale Joffrey Lauvergne who’s also in the final year of his contract and restricted. The Thunder and Roberson weren’t close in negotiations in October, but if the 6-foot-7 wing is on the team after Thursday, it could be the best indication that OKC is willing to keep him and match offers in the summer.”

All season Thunder fans have been pleading for the likes of Jimmy Butler and Paul George to come to OKC. Even with the recent Demarcus Cousins trade, I’m confident in saying that won’t happen. No other GM/owner in the league would allow the infatuation of ONE SINGLE PLAYER blind them like this. Even if Presti could convince someone that Enes Kanter is an all-star, they don’t have a first round pick to trade anytime soon.

The “perfect” target for the Thunder

“If the Thunder snagged Danilo Gallinari, it’d feel like a superstar pickup. The Rooster isn’t on that level, but he’s a self-sufficient scorer capable of some fiery outbursts (three outings of 25-plus points, half as many as the entire non-Westbrook Thunder). His three-point shooting and playmaking would help add wrinkles to the offensive game plan, and the 6’10” forward would give head coach Billy Donovan more lineup flexibility.”

Buttttttt if they made a trade I think Danilo Gallinari would be awfully interesting. OKC could go big with the starting lineup and play him at small forward, or finally take Domantas Sabonis out of the starting four spot. Either way Gallinari would provide much needed scoring and a third perimeter playmaker to take pressure off Russell Westbrook‘s shoulders.

I’m just really hurt by this. So I want to go on public record and say that I will not get got while tweeting from the TI account.

So it turns out Denver actually possesses the two perfect matches for Oklahoma City. Chandler is essentially the same player as Gallinari, just a little worse at shooting but a tad more athletic. He’s a better defender, but he can’t score in isolation as proficiently. Basically you just have to pick your poison.

Shoutout to staff writer/the least nice person I know Jeremy Lambert for reminding me of my coping mechanism during the summer/beginning of the season. If a move is happening this season, it has to happen in the next three days. So as always (at least until I forget about it again)
