Dear Anthony Morrow, It’s time to reconcile our differences

Anthony Morrow I know we’ve had a rough time the past couple of years. But you have to understand it’s all out of love.

Dear Anthony Morrow,

As I was perusing Twitter last night I noticed something peculiar.

At the time Russell TripDubBrook’s og tweet had three retweets, but it was only showing two accounts. I clicked on your @ name because it wasn’t showing you retweeted TripDubBrook’s tweet. That’s when the most embarrassing moment of my tenure at Thunderous Intentions occurred.

Naturally I clicked “Learn more” to try and figure out what/where/when/why/how such a travesty could occur. Sadly the “Learn more” feature does not give out that type of information.

So I must ask…When did this happen? Have you blocked us for a long time? Or did I go too far with this one?

About that…I’m not going to sit here and sugarcoat the fact that I have been tough on you this year. Because I have. And I think we can both agree it’s been slightly justified.

As fans it’s hard to see our sharpshooter shooting under 30% from three. And I know for a fact it’s way more difficult for you. But as I look back on our Twitter history, this is the meanest thing we’ve (I’ve) posted. Seriously, if your boy Kyle Singler hasn’t blocked us than no player should.

When I’m saying “the people” I mean me. It’s not that I dislike you, it’s that I like Alex Abrines more than anyone else in the entire world less my family. Just look at the numbers. We have over 2,600 Twitter followers. 4 people liked that tweet. 2,600. 4. Obviously I was wrong.

Must Read: Temper your Thunder trade expectations

And here’s the other thing. We (yes we because we are a whole staff of people who adore you) say a lot of great things about you too. Like that time I wrote about how you were the missing piece off the Thunder’s bench. Or the time Jeremy Lambert tried to reverse both of your beloved Panthers’ luck with a letter like this.

I don’t want you thinking I’m not thankful for your leadership. These young guys needed YOU to show them Zaza Pachulia can’t knock around their star like that. Abrines needs YOU to teach him how to make it and thrive in the NBA as a shooter. You’ve embraced your role as a teammate perfectly; that’s more valuable than any eight minute scoring spurt you may have.

If in fact that tweet is why we were blocked, let me apologize for my stupidity. In the heat of the moment-with the thought of going viral on my mind-dumb things tend to happen.

More from Thunderous Intentions

At the very least, block me instead. Don’t take this out on our entire team and our true professional tweeter Cole Hixon for something I said.

I’m sorry for any ill will we may have caused you. Remember, we are apart of FanSided. All of us are fans of this team. And some us (i.e. me) tend to get more emotional than others.

We don’t want you hating us. We want you to love us, the way we love you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter,

Tony Heim

PS Feel free to edit and analyze this in a similar manner that I have analyzed your season so far. It’s the least I can do 🙂
