Steph Curry and Klay Thompson bombed the OKC Thunder with a flurry of threes to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 111-95 win at the Peake.

Final. 111. 41. 95. 149

The first quarter was a defensive show from both teams, and saw the Thunder head into the second quarter down by a mere three points. It’s the second quarter where the wheels fell off. And boy oh boy did they fall off for the Thunder.

Oklahoma City shot 6-20 from the field in the second while the Warriors just couldn’t miss. The crowd was silent for pretty much the entire second quarter. That was until Iguodala forced a jump ball with the score being 56-39.

Then this happened.

Curry pushed Christon before the jump ball took place. Christon pushed back. Curry pushes again. Christon, visibly angered by that classless show of disrespect, pushes back much more aggressively and starts yelling at Curry. Christon wasn’t having any of it, and rightfully so. The bad blood is there, and you can tell.

Steph proceeded to score a wide open buzzer beater three, and the Thunder found themselves down by 20 going into halftime after conceding a 24-10 run to Golden State.

Must Read: Thoughts on the Warriors organization’s comments

The Thunder started the third with a fierce 13-5 run in the first three minutes to cut the deficit down to 12. But that’s as close as they ever got in the second half.

The Warriors hit the Thunder with another barrage of threes, and Curry hit another buzzer beater to extend their lead to 26 points after the end of the third quarter.

If you’re looking for any silver linings, the Thunder outscored Golden State 29-19 in the fourth and managed to avoid a 25+ point loss. That’s about it, really.

The Thunder were outplayed in every aspect of the game. They lost the rebounding battle 46-40, were outshot from the field as well as from 3.

More from Thunderous Intentions

Curry and Thompson drained 14 triples (10 more than the entire Thunder team combined). Westbrook had a meagre 15-8-7 statline and shot 25% from the field. Adams and Gibson couldn’t secure a rebound to save their lives and Abrines went 0-8 from the field.

The Oklahoma City Thunder missed FOURTEEN OUT OF THEIR THIRTY ONE FREE THROWS. That’s a 54.8% make rate, which is nothing short of horrendous. Just imagine if the Thunder made a few extra threes as well as make a few more free throws. The game would’ve been much closer.

With this loss, the Thunder’s five-game winning streak is broken; they sit at 40-30 on the season. They’re now swept by Golden State on the season and have a seven-game losing streak against the Warriors in the regular season.

They next face the Philadelphia 76ers at home on Wednesday.
