During his debut season Domantas Sabonis showcased he is a rookie with Hall of Fame blood.

Domantas Sabonis had a decent 2016-2017 season. He show some true potential, and  at points,  didn’t even look like a rookie. Although Sabonis is probably never going to be the best big man in the league, but he showcased this season he has a promising future.

With the NBA transitioning into being completely 3-point dominant, the original big man is a dying breed. Players like Marc Gasol have already taken note (66 total 3-point attempts his first eight professional years compared to 268 this past season).

Not only did Sabonis show he isn’t afraid to shoot, he showed some true signs of becoming a great defender and rebounder as well. Though he is a little skinnier than most seven-footers (210 pounds, 5 less than Victor Oladipo) he wasn’t afraid to bang down low with the big boys.

Sabonis didn’t have a rookie season for the ages, but it was definitely enough to put his foot in the door.
