Thunder in the news is your daily one-stop shop for everything OKC Thunder. Today we celebrate a couple offseason proclamations.

How is everyone doing today? Still reeling from the Carmelo Anthony trade rumors? Don’t worry I understand. Melo would be a great fit for the Thunder, especially if our resident shooters (Alex Abrines and Doug McDermott) aren’t included. We’re not here to continue the Melo talk though. We’re here to celebrate a bold statement from an analyst and important news from an esteemed reporter.

Patrick Patterson is a steal of the offseason

It’s not often that the Thunder find themselves on any sort of “free agency winners” list. But that’s exactly what we have here. Alex Kennedy from Hoops Hype broke down an extensive list of the best deals from the offseason; Patterson found himself on there as the quintessential role player on a cheap deal. Patterson isn’t going to change the outcome of a playoff series, but he can win a game with his defense and shooting.

"Patterson is a solid role player and you know exactly what you’re going to get from him. He’ll make an impact on the Thunder by switching on defense, spreading the floor and making hustle plays."

Russell Westbrook organizes summer workouts

This is what a leader should do. And this is what Oklahoma City’s leader has been doing for quite some time. ESPN’s Royce Young gave some new information about the Thunder workouts going on in Los Angeles this week. Sadly Thunder players won’t get to meet their newest superstar teammate at the workouts, but they should get their first chance to befriend Raymond Felton and Patrick Patterson. Send positive vibes out to LA – we need oodles of chemistry to ooze from these workouts.

"Absent from the workout will be Paul George, who has been in Spain on a vacation that was planned before his trade to the Thunder. ESPN earlier reported that George would be back in time to participate."

Thanks for stopping by! As always we will be back tomorrow with more Oklahoma City Thunder talk.
