The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Los Angeles Lakers last night to advance to the Western Conference Finals to play the San Antonio Spurs.

The full schedule for the Western Conference Finals looks like this:

Game 1 – Sunday May 27 – Oklahoma City at San Antonio – 8:30PM – TNT

Game 2 – Tuesday May 29 – Oklahoma City at San Antonio – 9:00PM – TNT

Game 3 – Thursday May 31 – San Antonio at Oklahoma City – 9:00PM – TNT

Game 4 – Saturday June 2 – San Antonio at Oklahoma City – 8:30PM – TNT

Game 5 * – Monday June 4 – Oklahoma City at San Antonio – 9:00PM – TNT

Game 6 * – Wednesday June 6 – San Antonio at Oklahoma City – 9:00PM – TNT

Game 7 * – Friday June 8 – Oklahoma City at San Antonio – 9:00PM – TNT

*if necessary

The Thunder had to play back-to-back games in L.A. in this series against the Lakers for Games 3 and 4. Against the Spurs there won’t be any scheduling like that. Every game has one day rest in between.

Both the Thunder and Spurs will get ample rest before the series starts. Neither team looked rusty when getting this kind of rest before the starts of their second round series.

The Spurs took two of three games against the Thunder in the regular season.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been waiting awhile to play more basketball. They swept the Dallas Mavericks in Round 1 and are awaiting the winner of the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets who could be headed to a Game 7.

If the Lakers win tonight in Game 6 in Denver then Game 1 of the second round with the Thunder will be Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. EST on TNT.

If there is a Game 7 and the Lakers lose to Denver tonight then Game 1 will be played Monday at 8:30 p.m. EST on TNT. Game 2 would then be on Wednesday.

The Thunder are hoping for the Lakers-Nuggets series to go seven mainly so it gives Kendrick Perkins more time to rest.

Metta World Peace will miss the final game of his suspension tonight and will return Saturday night whether it’s for a Game 7 at home or a Game 1 in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will play Game 1 of their first round playoff series on Saturday, April 28. Their opponent will either be Dallas or Denver.

The Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls and Indiana Pacers will also play on Saturday, hosting their respective Game 1’s. The Spurs and Lakers will host their Game 1’s on Sunday and the Clippers-Grizzlies series and Celtics-Hawks series will also start on Sunday.

Kobe Bryant may have a little extra incentive to go for the scoring title tonight since he will have an extra day of rest before the playoffs start for him. He needs 38 points tonight to pass Kevin Durant.

Denver is currently one game ahead of Dallas for the six seed in the Western Conference standings. The Nuggets play at Minnesota tonight and Dallas plays at Atlanta. If Dallas wins and Denver loses then Oklahoma City will play Denver in the first round. Any other scenario and the Thunder will play Dallas.
