Participating in Bracket Pools:

Whether you watch College Ball religiously, follow your alma mater or haven’t watched a lick of NCAA this season, participating in tourney pools is the route to go for maximum enjoyment. The adage “I have a horse in the race comes to mind”.  Let’s face it, with bragging rights on the line the tournament is infinitely more appealing.

This scribe has experienced overwhelming successes and debilitating defeats.

I’ve witnessed NCAA hoop heads snuffed out early and  conversely watched friends utilize crazy methods to fill in their brackets and go on to win their pools. Suffice to say there is no sure fire way to win and the odds of getting a perfect bracket are slim to none.

Warren Buffett has become synonymous with March Madness with his lottery-esque contests. As Forbes writer Kurt Badenhausen expertly opined:

Buffett first got into the madness of March basketball in 2014 when he, along with Quicken Loans, offered $1 billion to anyone who could pick a perfect bracket in the men’s tournament. Buffett knew he had a safe bet with odds against the feat as high as 1 in 9.2 quintillion (that is 18 zeroes). Every one of the millions of brackets was busted within 31 hours of the tourney start, but it offered great PR for the Oracle of Omaha. Buffett didn’t get rich by being stupid.

Bottom line March Madness is just more fun when it’s accompanied by participation in a Tourney Pool.  In fact, Thunderous Intentions invites you to participate in our Tournament Bracket Pool. Check back this afternoon or get a jump on the competition and enter now.
