OKC Thunder – Top 10 moments of 2008-2009 season

UNITED STATES - MARCH 24: Fans wait to enter the Ford Center for a National Basketball Association (NBA) game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Oklahoma City Thunder in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, U.S., on Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Nearly three decades after an energy bust that forced 122 banks to close statewide, Oklahoma City is in the fifth year of an economic expansion that's produce the lowest jobless rate for a major metro U.S. area. Oklahoma City demonstrated it could support a NBA team, encouraging the Seattle Supersonics to move permanently and become the Thunder, which now draw crowds as large as the Boston Celtics. The right foot

The OKC Thunder got the first of their currently 489 regular season wins on November 2nd, 2008. In a home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves (Remember Billings, Montana), the Thunder got revenge for their preseason loss.

Future Thunder players Corey Brewer and Randy Foye started for Minny. Kevin Love came off the bench. Kevin Durant led OKC in scoring with 18, and the home team walked away with an 88-85 victory.

It was in doubt near the end, but Mr. Thunder, himself, Nick Collison scored the clinching basket and the Thunder held on. Jeff Green held the lead from the line, and then the Thunder got a stop to seal their first ever victory.

According to NewsOK, Russ sparked a late rally, and Nick played an important role, diving for multiple loose balls and grabbing more than his fair share of rebounds. That sounds very familiar, and is something OKC fans saw a ton of over the years.

This win set the tone.
