Sometimes leadership requires patience. It’s likely CP3 wasn’t delighted the team coughed up a massive lead but his effect and calm were on hand in the final frame.

He produced 19 points, 3 rebounds, nine assists and a steal in the match but couldn’t find the range on his shot.

Of note, no one is getting an “A” or “A+” because losing a 24 point lead and coming close to losing the game doesn’t warrant those grades.

Up and down effort for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander that looks solid in the box score but as per above doesn’t reflect the full story.

That said, SGA was impactful in the final frame and his overall game is a sign of his continuing growth.

The Canadian delivered a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds while also adding three assists, a steal, and two blocks. He got to the line 12 times and his perimeter shot looked back on track.
