Highlights

As I also cover the G-League for Thunderous Intentions there are so many highlights of Dort that I could put in here. However, I am only going to focus on a few. The first one of these was in the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves where he announced to all of us he was here to play.

The ball was being inbounded by the Timberwolves, they were up, they simply needed to get the ball in to pretty much stop any chance the Thunder had of coming back. Dort pressured the receiver so much, including diving on the floor to force the turnover.

The Thunder would then go on and win the match through a series of events which included the Steven Adams inbound pass to Dennis Schroder of the Karl Anthony-Towns made free throw. This forced overtime but it was the play of Dort which made it possible.

Then there was the defense all year. I remember watching LeBron James getting so frustrated with Dort’s on-ball pressure that he resorted to try and back him down in the post. This is how James normally re-establishes dominance. Guess what, he could not move Dort back at all.

To close the season, there was the Houston Rockets series. Dort missed game one and James Harden loved it. When Dort came back for the rest of the series, Harden struggled to produce at his normal efficiency. Then, finally, Dort broke out in the final game for those 30 points. What a player.
