The Thunder are really unselfish, sharing the ball around for the best shot.

The OKC Thunder have the team-first mentality on offense. Their ball movement is crisp, and they look for each other to see who has the best shot. This is the sort of basketball that is going to win them more games than they lose, eventually.

More from Thunderous Intentions

Tonight’s game was a tremendous example of this. The Thunder had 24 assists on 30 made baskets and that number would have been higher had some more of the shots gone down. With the exception of Moses Brown, every other player is just looking for a better shot.

George Hill, Gilgeous-Alexander, Darius Bazley, Horford, and Hamidou Diallo are all capable of giving out multiple assists a game.  However, it is not just the experienced guys who are doing this. Since the start of the season, when his shot was not falling, the Thunder have encouraged Pokusevski to pass the ball.

They are crisp and on target most of the time and as he gets to know how and where his teammates want the ball, Poku is going to average huge assist numbers as a big man. This is going to open up the floor for the rest of his game.

However, the nicest combination at the moment is watching Theo Maledon find Mike Muscala. Then, usually, a play or so later, Muscala finds Maledon. Their two-man game is going to be something to behold the longer the season goes on.

The more this team plays together, the better they are going to get. This is perhaps the most exciting takeaway of the game.
