OKC Thunder trade partner No. 3) Dallas Mavericks
Unlike the other two teams mentions on this list, the Dallas Mavericks are struggling mightily so far into the season.
Despite having one of the brightest stars in the NBA in Luka Doncic running the show, the Mavs find themselves holding the third worst record in the Western Conference at 8-13.
Losers of six straight games, Marc Cuban and co. should strongly consider making moves to better the team’s chances of thrusting up the standings and, in turn, not wasting a year that they came into with such promise.
From our calculations, we see the 3 most likely players to be traded on the OKC Thunder as being great potential grabs for Dallas.
Al Horford would be a solid addition to the team’s frontcourt, that lacks rebounding (28th in the league), defensive intimidation (23rd), and, with Kristaps Porzingis’ struggles, consistency.
That said, if he proves to be too expensive for their liking, they could also go the direction of George Hill, who would give them an elite shooter as well as a secondary ball handler/ play maker, or even Trevor Ariza, a consistent 3-and-D wing with championship experience.
All three of these players have seen upwards of 100 postseason games in their careers and could serve as both strong presences in the locker room as well as still productive contributors on the court.
Don’t be surprised if Dallas makes a call to the OKC Thuder inquiring about one of these afeormentioned players in the near future, especially if their struggles continue.
