Reggie Jackson’s days in Oklahoma City are numbered. With the addition of Dion Waiters and Jackson’s contract situation still unsettled, the young point guard has become expendable for the Thunder.
General Manager Sam Presti is usually quick to act in these situations. When a deal couldn’t be reached with James Harden, Presti shipped him off to Houston before the season started in order to avoid a season-long distraction. Jackson’s situation is closer to that of Jeff Green, who the Thunder traded mid-season in 2011 knowing that they wouldn’t be able to retain his services the following year.
