The Oklahoma City Thunder have been a main piece of the playoffs throughout the last five years. Fans are quick to give all the credit to the players and coaches of the team, but NBA franchises don’t spend that much time in the playoffs without a general manager that knows how to do his job running the front office. That’s where Thunder GM Sam Presti comes in.
Presti took over as GM for the franchise back in June of 2007, when the team was still in Seattle. In his time with the Sonics/Thunder, Presti has made some excellent draft picks. Everyone knows all the star players that he is responsible for bringing into the league such as Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden. What often gets overlooked though are the trades he’s made over the years. Like any GM, all the trades aren’t always home run deals, but that’s the risk that comes with the job.
That being said, let’s take a look at the five best and worst trades of Sam Presti’s career with the Seattle/Oklahoma City franchise.
