7. First Scoring Title
Early in KD’s career it became obvious that the league had just introduced its new great scorer. A 6’10” small forward with the wingspan of a center and the range of a shooting guard. Durant has been a nightmare for defenders from day one. It was only a matter of time before he won his first scoring title.
This came to Durant during the 2009-10 season, when he averaged 30.1 points, making him the youngest scoring champion in NBA history. In case that isn’t impressive enough, let’s take a look at the players he had to beat to do so.
2009-10 Scoring Results
1. Kevin Durant-30.1
2. LeBron James-29.7
3. Carmelo Anthony-28.2
After beating competition like that, it was clear that the young superstar had arrived. Now the question was, “Just how many scoring titles will he win?”
