3. Back-to-Back-to-Back Scoring Titles

As mentioned before, Durant claimed his first scoring title during the 2009-10 season. It was clear that it would be the first of multiple scoring titles to be claimed by the superstar. That being said, I don’t think anyone saw what was coming next.

From the 2009-2012 seasons Durant claimed three scoring tiles in three years, a feat that had only been done six times before in the history of the NBA prior to Durant accomplishing this. To make the feat even more impressive, Durant picked up his fourth scoring title in 2014, making him tied for third for the most scoring titles by a single player. Ironically, the one year in the middle of these award-winning seasons was the only year Durant made it into the very exclusive 50-40-90 Club. That being said, let’s take a look at the list.

Most Scoring Titles in NBA History

1. Michael Jordan– 10

2. Wilt Chamberlain– 7

3. Kevin Durant/George Gervin/Allen Iverson– 4

Durant is only in his eighth season and has already achieved this feat four times. It’s a very realistic thought that KD could reach and/or surpass Chamberlain for second on the list. It may be a little more unrealistic to think they he could claim the top spot on the list, though. Either way, Durant is clearly one of the most prolific scorers that the league has ever seen.
