Kevin Durant’s Greatest Moments with the Thunder
By Ben Bundy
1. MVP
It took Durant three different second place finishes (to LeBron of course) before finally winning his first MVP Award. Not only did KD put together the best season of his career, he also had one of the best MVP seasons of any winner in league history. During the season, Durant had these totals:
Pts-32.0 Reb-7.4 Ast-5.5 Blk-0.7 Stl-1.3
Durant winning the award was long time coming. He had been one of the most dominant players in the league year-in and year-out. It was great to see him finally be rewarded for his accomplishments on the court, having come a long way from the 19-year-old string bean that won the Rookie of the Year back in 2007.
Though he has been sidelined recently by a nagging foot injury, there is no reason to think that this list will not become longer and more impressive before his career comes to an end. More scoring titles and MVP awards could potentially be coming Durant’s way. Who knows, maybe he will find himself back in the Finals again soon. This time coming out with a ring and a Finals MVP to add to this list.
One thing is certain though. His future looks bright, and he could easily go down as the greatest player to every suit up for the Seattle/Oklahoma City franchise (sorry, Gary Payton).
