In both of these team’s regular season finales, the Thunder may need this final game to get them into the playoffs. The season could come down to this final game.
This year OKC has beaten Minnesota in all three previously played games and none of them were really close. Minnesota has a record of 16-62 this season. It has been a very difficult year for them and at this point, they will only playing for pride’s sake.
More from Thunderous Intentions
- Stealing one player from every Southwest Division team for the OKC Thunder
- Should the OKC Thunder chase after a disgruntled hometown hero?
- 3 OKC Thunder players who can step up in Aleksej Pokusevski’s absence
- Aleksej Pokusevski sidelined approximately 6 weeks with ankle injury
- Damian Lillard does not fit with the OKC Thunder
The T-Wolves will finish off the season at home, so if they want to impress their fans one final time before next year, then they might have the added energy to beat the Thunder.
The Timberwolves have a long list of injuries including Nikola Pekovic, Gary Neal, Ricky Rubio, Gorgui Dieng, and Shabazz Muhammad. This team has more injuries than the Thunder at the moment, which is definitely saying something.
If the Thunder at least play an above average game then they should easily beat the T-Wolves. As long as Westbrook and Kanter are healthy and the team plays well then the W should be theirs. The only thing that will matter is if this game will be important for the playoff race between the Thunder and Pelicans depending on what each of the teams records will be at the time.
If all goes right in these last four games for the Thunder then they could narrowly sneak into the final spot in the tough Western Conference over the New Orleans Pelicans.
