#10 – Current Thunder Player – Andre Roberson

Jake’s Historic Counterpart – Dennis Rodman

Stats per 36 minutes:

And this is probably where I’ve lost you on believable comparisons but bear with me here…Roberson may just be the second coming of “The Worm”. You see, for all of Roberson’s woes as an offensive player (and believe me, you could write an article in and of itself on his offensive limitations), he’s still one of the grittiest and most tenacious man-to-man defenders in the league (he just doesn’t get recognized because he’s not great off-ball). He’s arguably the single most one-dimensional player in the league (Sorry, Tony Allen. You occasionally hit a 3).

That’s not such a bad thing, though. Have you seen Roberson rebound? It’s unbelievable. He’s a magnet to the ball. Wanna know another guy who totally made his living off of playing hard defense and sucking up everyone rebound as it came off the glass? You guessed it! Rodman! And before you interject and try to compare the two, I want you to try and picture Rodman attempting to play on the wing. It’d probably look a lot like Roberson, huh? Unfortunately for Roberson, however, switching to center isn’t really an option (even if he and Rodman are the same height)
