LAST SEASON’S RECORD VS. OPPONENT: 2-0
What can you say this about this matchup that won’t be discussed a million times over the course of the next year? Durant’s free agency does loom large over the team but, whatever the outcome, it won’t be addressed until after the season is over. But that won’t stop dozens of prognosticators (even us, I’ll admit) from offering their opinion on where KD will play in 2016-17.
And Washington, Durant’s hometown team, are considered a strong potential destination if he does leave the Thunder.
Once you get past all of the free agent talk, there’s still an interesting game left to watch. It’ll feature two of the fastest point guards in the league (Westbrook and John Wall), one of Donovan’s former players from Florida (Bradley Beal) and a promising young rookie (Kelly Oubre, Jr.) with ties to Durant. It’s definitely a game worth watching and listening to, if just to hear what the “experts” have to say.
But I’d keep my thumb on the “MUTE” button just in case.
