LAST SEASON’S RECORD VS. OPPONENT: 1-3
Does this one really need that much hype? Barring an unforeseen collapse, the Golden State Warriors, 2015 NBA champions, will likely be a very good team this upcoming season. They traded David Lee to the Celtics for salary-cap space but were able to retain Draymond Green, one of the biggest surprises on the team. His versatility was a true difference maker and allowed the team to play at high levels on both ends of the floor.
Last year’s MVP, Stephen Curry, and All-Star Klay Thompson will continue to provide elite-level floor spacing for the Warriors.
However, it’s worth noting that all three of these players had very long seasons and two of them (Curry and Thompson) were key players on the USA Men’s team during the 2014 World Cup. Could this prolonged schedule have an impact on injuries?
Still, if both teams are at full strength for this first-of-three meetings, this could be one of the most dynamic games of the regular season.
