Rashard Lewis

Tenure- 1998-2007

Coming into his NBA career, not many people knew who Rashard Lewis was, being drafted with the last pick in the draft. Averaging only 2.4 points per game his first season, many people assumed Lewis would be a D-League player, or a role player at best. This all changed in 2000, when Lewis became the full-time starter for the SuperSonics and made the most of his opportunity. In his first year in the starting lineup, Lewis averaged 14.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game .

Lewis quickly became a fan favorite among fans, remaining a starter for seven full seasons. The SuperSonics and Lewis decided to part ways after the 2006-07 season. Most of the departure can be pointed towards the arrival of Jeff Green and another future star in the making. Both had more potential over the aging small forward, and the front office, to their credit, recognized that Lewis was expendable. Rashard Lewis will always be one of the great players to put on a Sonics jersey.
