Arron Afflalo

Age: 30  Height: 6’5”  Weight: 210

2015-16 Stats: 12.8 points, 2 assists, 3.7 rebounds

Arron Afflalo was once someone that would have received a lot of attention during free agency. This has changed in recent years, as his numbers and athleticism have declined. That being said, he’s still someone that would be a solid addition on Oklahoma City’s bench.

Afflalo still put up solid numbers in his starting role for the New York Knicks, so he has shown he’s still a capable player despite his numbers declining. He made $8,000,000 this past season, so a pay cut would likely have to happen if the Thunder were to sign him. This might not be a problem though considering he would be leaving to play for a contender.

Afflalo has been used to playing the starting role for almost all of his career, so convincing him to come off the bench might be an issue, but not a deal breaker. If he wants to win a championship before the end of his career then the Thunder would be his best bet of the teams in the mix this free agency.

Right now you should expect Afflalo to opt out of his last year with the Knicks and sign with a new team. He will definitely have a few teams interested in him due to his decent stats, but most will want him to come off the bench. If that’s the case then look for the Thunder to possible take a shot at him in free agency.
